This is the new website of Derek Whitton.

I have had an interest in photography for 30 years, for 20 years of that time my photography was mostly photographic memories and holiday snaps of my wife and 3 children through the years as they grew up to become adults themselves.

I started out using a basic Chinon CE4 SLR which came recommended at the time and more recently a Nikon FE SLR. I recently went digital when I bought a Nikon D80. Due to a recent accident with the D80 I now have a Nikon D90 with a Nikon 18-105mm Lens.

I have developed my photographic interest into landscape, flowers, birds, dragonfly and butterfly photographs.

My bird photographs come from my hobbies of Bird Ringing and Raptor Studies, and in these sections you will find photographs to help in ageing various species of birds.
